AutoSense is taking their driver training simulator on a road trip around the country, in an effort to provide better training for heavy and light vehicle drivers.
The AutoSense Mobile Truck Simulator is the only one of its kind in New Zealand, with training based on the SAFED style and training customised to suit a company’s common driving situations. Driver awareness levels, responses to failures, emergency situations, and fuel efficiency are assessed and reported. This provides a clear path towards safe, efficient, low-risk and fuel-efficient driving practices throughout a fleet. This evaluation is a valuable tool in ensuring drivers are both fuel-efficient and follow safe driving practices.
“The simulator gives you the unique opportunity to evaluate your drivers’ full driving competency in just one hour, minimising business interruption while providing safety compliance training,” says Charles Dawson, AutoSense CEO. “Businesses can book the simulator for a full day and get up to 14 drivers through in a half day or slot drivers in individually. We are fortunate to work closely with NZI Lumley, who will often contribute to the costs of the programme for their clients.”
Businesses that have used the AutoSense simulator say they have found the training assists in the journey to change culture and make driving more of a profession, while also ticking the health and safety box.
“The more education and training drivers can get, the safer they will be on the road, and we are here to help with that,” says Dawson.
